I feel so awful about leaving it off on such a cliffhanger, but I couldn't find a good place to leave it (it was already 9,300 words...) so I decided that if I had to leave it off abruptly I might as well do it in the meanest most dramatic fashion possible... But I'm already working hard on chapter ten, so hopefully it can get up soon!
I'm so glad you like the story, and the characterizations. I worry over it, especially with this chapter.
Thanks so much for reading!

I believe I enjoyed England punching America a bit too much. Haha, and am trying to figure out about where in Cali they are. I should know my state.

I'm glad you enjoyed England getting his inner empire on.
As for... the place they are. My understanding of Californian geography is dismal at best so I kept it purposefully vague to prevent from doing blatant errors in landscape. At the very least they haven't reached the bay area yet.
Thanks for reading!

“You stay the fuck away from me,” England commanded, his voice deadly quiet.OH YEAH BABY. British Empire IN YOUR FACE, BIATCH. Would you believe I cheered at this line, wth self ( ... )

“I can do whatever the hell I want,” England shouted, walking quicker still. “We haven’t talked in days-months-! We don’t talk, America-we don’t communicate!”
THIS. JUST. THIS.
And er:
“That’s all I am to you, huh? STUPID?” America shouted, face contorted in rage.
“Yes!” America shouted. “You’re stupid-you’re blind-you don’t realize just what you-just what it is that you do-You can’t be honest with yourself ‘about this’? Can’t be honest about what?”
Shouldn't that be "England shouted?"

The cliffhanger may just kill me, but oh what a way to go! But seriously, I ♥ this fic so much. Despite whatever difficulties you had writing it, I think that the end result is definitely up to your usual (amazing) standard.
I loved how pissed off England got in this chapter, not only because it had been a long time coming, but because I've always pictured him as having a nasty temper that influences him to do batshit things in the heat of the moment. Like almost wreck a car, and then go stomping off into the desert empty-handed.
Now I wonder if, once America makes his confession (assuming he actually does), England will even be honest in return right away, or if he'll stew in his own pride for a bit first. Because nothing can ever be straightforward with these two.
