I have decided to once again try to grow a kitchen herb garden, and I feel exceedingly guilty about it. Awwwww...I feel your pain. I killed ivy once. It's supposed to survive anything. I really tried to keep alive the peace lily some friends sent me when my Dad died. I kept it brown leaves and all for a year before I threw it out. I wanted to give it a proper burial but my husband refused to dig a hole for me in 30 degree weather. I can't say I blame him (for once). It sounds like you have a really good start though. I've never bothered to actually read up on the subject. Maybe you can channel the herb book's power.
