A lot has happened in the past couple of months, and I haven't been good about documenting it. I don't want to bore anyone with a 50 page update, so I'm just going to post some pictures to give you an idea of what I've been doing in the past month and a half.

That last picture..is that somewhere right off of I-80 coming into/out of Nevada/Utah? I seem to remember something looking like that when I went that way years ago. Such a strange (but cool) lookin' thing.

How do you like Berkeley so far?

Wow, you have a good eye. I thought this sculpture was interesting, although I didn't know exactly what it was or why it was there. We passed by so many monuments and unusual landscapes, but almost all of the site seeing had to be done at 80 mph. It could have been a much more fulfilling experience had we had time to see and do more things. Then again, the trip was long enough as it was. But, yeah. That's exactly where that was ( ... )

It's good to hear from you too! I not only support but empathize with Missouri kids going out in the big bad world. Sure, everything's going to be new and intimidating, but I think that at least in the US most things are pretty much the same. Grocery stores and movie theatres are different, but you know..

I will say though that Berkeley does seem to be friendlier than St. Louis, although St. Louis feels like Green Acres compared to San Fransisco proper. When you inevitable do explore that part of your new metro, do be careful. There's no part of STL or KC both that one can compare it too..but it is spectacular.

I'm not sure what that thing's doing out in the middle of the desert, either. It's probably why I still remember it after four years. :)

Ooooh, you live in Berkeley now? Me too! Well, only sort of... My dad just moved there, and I live w/my mum across that dangerous, ready-to-fall-apart-in-a-good-shake old bridge (or w/various and sundry friends in Marin, or at school in Santa Cruz) most of the time, but if you want any Bay Area recommendations, I'm your girl!

Congrats on graduating and on moving to this bestest most wonderfulest place!!!

Okay, don't know much about the East Bay (yet), but so far my family has taken a shine to the Kurry Klub (Indian Food), Saul's (I think that's the name of it...), the Courthouse Café (Oakland; rockin' crepes), and Jimmy Bean's (We did Father's Day brunch there, v. good). Apparently, you can drive to the top of Mount Diablo, but we're saving that for January (You can see the Sierras from there or Morgan Territory on a cold, clear winter day). Of course, if you be needing water bottles or Power Bars for such an excursion, those can be obtained at everyone's favorite Co-Op!! REI Berkeley is located on the corner of Gilman and San Pablo. Hooray! I like Berkeley Rep ( ... )
