My scale is a piece of crap. I was on it four times this morning and each time, I weighed a different amount. And it’s not like it varied by a hundredth or even a tenth of a pound. Digital scales may need to "tare" (calibrate) themselves when they start up. Do you give it a few seconds to do that before stepping on it? Does how you stand on it affect the weight? If so, you might be able to at least get consistent readings by being careful how you stand on it.

Yes, it sort of flashes for a bit and then reads 0.0 and then I get on it. I thought maybe I need to be careful of how I stand but that seems a bit ridiculous, doesn't it?
