I'm sorry. That's just a really unsettling situation period. Hopefully things will get better. Children are survivors, and it seems like you and the rest of your family give them a good, positive vibe which helps.

Yes, I just wish that my family had more of an influence in their lives. They don't see them very often, but maybe they'll see them more now that my parents are the designated chaperones for Jeremiah when he visits them.

They could really use some positive role models.
