HanaKimi!

So. Watched the first episode of the new J-drama Hanazakari no Kimitachi e ~Ikemen Paradise~ (aka HanaKimi), based on the manga of the same name.

It stars Oguri Shun (think Hanazawa Rui from the Hana Yori Dango J-drama) as Sano Izumi, Horikita Maki as Ashiya Mizuki, and Ikuta Toma (he played Junpei in episode 1 of HYD 2) as Nakatsu Shuichi.

Minor spoilers )

You saw episode 1 of the HanaKimi J-drama, too?!

We should have a drama night, though how we'd actually go about it I don't know. The thing about drama series of course, is that they are a series of episodes. How on earth would we watch an entire series in one night - considering that one episode is usually around 45 minutes - or, if we don't intend on finishing the series, how on earth would we be able to bear the suspense?! XD

My roommate and I watched the Taiwanese version which, incedently, got me reading the original jpn manga (Eng Translated). I want to watch the jpn version SOOOOO badly!!! I'll probably wait a few more months till half the show is out and then download it all to watch on the plane.

::drools:: Hanazawa Rui XD

Now, think SHIRTLESS Hanazawa Rui (who is no longer Hanazawa Rui but Sano Izumi)!!! XD

I can see the appeal of waiting for more episodes to come out before you watch it - but that doesn't necessarily stop you from downloading as they come out, does it? That is, I did a similar thing with HYD2 when it was being aired because I was so busy with school and such. I waited until the series was over before I watched it - bypassing the agony of waiting for the next episode - but I actually downloaded the episodes as they were released.

I did this because I was afraid that some links might be really slow or even dead if I waited too long. My suggestion to you would be to do the same. Download the episodes while the links are fast and fresh, but wait to watch them later.

That is, if you have enough self-control to do so. ^_~

I agree with you about the Hanakimi manga. I mean, I know it's probably too early too say as we still have an entire series to go, but I still like the drama waayyy more than the manga.

I think Ikuta Toma's interpretation of Nakatsu is a deciding factor. I mean, he was alright in the manga, but J-drama!Nakatsu is just all-around awesome! :D He's my favorite character so far, whereas I didn't really have any favorite characters in the manga.

Love the icon, btw. :3

HAHAHAHA!! I know! It shows Tuesdays at 9pm and I can`t wait to see it! This is great, because I just went out tonight and was raving with my friend Maya all about it, and she started talking about other J-dramas and whatnot, so then I start by a net cafe on the way home and wheee~ more Hana Kimi rantage! ^_^

And well... as for being better than the manga... -_-... We`ll just have to see.

Wait, you can't "wait to see it"? Does that mean by the time you catch it this Tuesday you'll have already missed episodes one and two? But you'll have missed the best episode so far (episode 2) if that's the case. What a shame!

And, trust me, the J-drama is so much better.
