Luxord took a sip from his cup and scratched behind his cat's ear while reading over some of the charts his 5th years had turned in. At least they were improving from when they had begun at the start of the year. It was always amazing to Luxord how someone could mess up the conversion between the numerical calculations and their meaning but he supposed this wasn't a subject for everyone. It wasn't his fault he had a gift with numbers. He took his quill and circled a few answers before looking up when he heard a knock.
His eye flicked over to the large grandfather clock he kept in his office and then to his cat, "He's certainly prompt." Luxord rose from his desk, picking up Dice and setting him on the floor, it wasn't polite to have cats on the table when guests were over. Dice looked up at Luxord with disapproval but flicked his tail and went to curl up on his pillow.
"Good afternoon," Luxord replied as he opened the door to his fellow professor, "Please, come in."
Kristoph was pleased that he didn't have to wait long for Luxord to open the door for him, though the expression didn't show beyond the usual cordiality and friendliness he showed just about everyone. He didn't move forward until the door was obviously opened enough for him to move through comfortably. After all, he couldn't very well come off as intruding.
Once the door was pulled further open, Kristoph moved through the open doorway and into the office, smiling as he did so. His arms lifted as he waited, crossing over his chest loosely. "Good afternoon to you as well, professor. I am Kristoph Gavin, current professor of Wizarding Law. It's quite kind of you to invite me over."
The question of who invited whom wasn't easily answered in this case, and in all honesty, Kristoph preferred to call himself the guest as he was over in someone else's office. Semantics could be a bit of a problem, but for now he wouldn't let it bother him.
Luxord could tell this was going to be a challenge because Kristoph appeared to be one of those individuals who knew how to mask his expressions. He made a mental note to test this theory later, perhaps in a friendly game of cards or Wizard's Chess. For now, he'd merely observe, but Luxord was always pretty keen at being able to pick out a good poker face when he saw one

Luxord was right about Kristoph's 'poker face.' After all, the defense attorney prided himself on being able to guard himself and not show what he was thinking, no matter what it was. This ability had served him well, particularly in the courtroom, and he didn't see it becoming less useful anytime in the near future

"It's good to finally meet you."
