Byakuya's classroom was as meticulous as it was bland. Everything was in the appropriate place, desks evenly spaced and the professor himself sitting straight behind his own, waiting for students.

While it wasn't his favorite class (or teacher, for that matter), Al was more or less petrified of Byakuya, and so he always showed up early for that class.

"Hello, Professor," he greeted and sat down quickly, taking out parchment and quill to prepare for the class.

"Good morning, Alphonse," Byakuya replied. "Leave your homework on the corner of your desk," he instructed. "I will collect it when the lesson begins."

"Yes, Professor," he nodded. Al did that first, carefully setting the assigned essay on his desk before turning back to his bag, from which he pulled out his textbook.

There. All set. Now he just had to wait for class to start.
