In spite of her holding Byakuya's arm and leaning heavily against him as she walked down the hall, Shalice still managed to stumble. It was possible that she was drunker than she'd thought.
"Whoops!" she said, flailing with one arm and clutching tightly to Byakuya's with the other. "I s'pose I maybe drunk too much." Regaining her balance, she looked at him, a conspiratorial smile on her face. She stood up on her tiptoes and put her face next to his ear. "Really I don't think there's sucha thing," she whispered. Or did what she thought was whisper, which was speak at a slightly-above-normal volume.
Byakuya closed his eyes briefly to fortify himself, only to have them open suddenly them again as the woman stumbled over air. He braced his arm easily, keeping her upright.
"Your breath, it would seem, begs to differ," he replied after a moment, catching her more fully as she tripped over nothing once again.
Shalice looked as horrified as she could manage, which was not much, given her slackjaw and glazed over eyes. "My breath?" She scrunched up her face in concentration. "Maybe I could spell it to make it better."
She gave up after a few moments of digging through her robes to find the wand, unaware that she had touched it several times in her search. "I don't know where I put it," she said, slightly confused. "Do you?"
The look on Shalice's face was about as ridiculous as Byakuya supposed she could manage in such a state, which was fairly impressive.
"I do not," he replied succinctly. "And in your current condition, I doubt you would know which end of the wand to hold, much less how to cast a successful spell."
