I think these are a great interpretation of "empty nests" ;) Then again, wasn't that phrase brought about by the symbolism of baby birds leaving the bird nest? I do think so ( Read more... )

It fascinates me that you have the patiences (did I spell that right??) to sit down and churn out these projects! I have a bunch of scrapbooking that I need to do and I've lost my motivation and patiences to do so. When my youngest sister lived here we would do it together so she would keep me going - but now it's just sitting there collecting dust. I still have pictures from our 2005 trip to Disneyland that need to be done! I love your work!!

Thanks! I think that's why I do so many different projects. I only have so much patience for one thing, and then I need to work on something else. This project has been a big one. I have 22 of those little nests made so far (for the robin's and blue jay's ones), and now I need to start working on the hummingbird ones too!

Maybe if you work on the scrapbook pics from 2005 a little at a time, say.. a few hours a month, you will get it done! or you could alternately dedicate one "free" day to working on it as much as possible! (while your favorite movies are playing in the background ;) )

This is so neat! I had no idea that you actually handmade the nests and so on. I can't believe how talented you are...everything you do always looks so perfect and professional.

I do make the nests from start to finish! Originally, I was hoping to use pre-made nests (tiny sized) but wasn't able to find any as small as I wanted, so I just decided to make them myself. I know they sell little nests in craft stores and whatnot, but they aren't as small as I needed.

Thank you! I put a lot of effort into everything I make; I blame it on the perfectionism gene in me. ;)
