Pretty much what it says on the tin. Adrianne might be an alpha, and that might mean she's tall, and has certain biological impulses, but all that societal stuff about alphas being in charge all the time? It's really not for her. Gen's the one Adrianne's been seeing for a little while now, and Adrianne thinks she might trust Gen enough to bring up that she doesn't want to be the head of everything.

Your call on whether Gen is a toppy little omega who thinks it's perfect, a not-particularly-dominant type herself who works out a compromise, or something else, whatever you like.

Do you have any particular feelings about female alpha anatomy? Like, would you mind if Adrianne had a knot? Also, do you have any preferences about POV?

OP - I am as flexible on this as you could possibly imagine, yay! I would be totally fine with Adrianne having a knot, and any POV you like, and any other thoughts on anatomy you might have; I like everything. If any other questions about preference occur to you, it's safe to assume the answer is "OP is fine with it if it seems in the spirit of the prompt". :)

Is the OP perhaps familiar with the game where you annoy people by adding 'in bed' to the ends of all their sentences? My brain apparently did this with your prompt, which I read and concluded was all about sex, even though you actually say nothing about sex in the prompt. So. Uh. This is all about sex. OP *is* familiar with that game! Though in my social circle, it is only ever played with the fortunes from fortune cookies.

Which works remarkably well, on the whole. :) "You will find prosperity in bed" etc.

I'm more than happy for this fill to be in bed, too :D.

This is brilliant so far! I love the awkward explanation part, Gen's willingness to a) listen and b) give it a shot since it clearly means something to Adrianne, Adrianne's nervousness and trust, and *her* willingness to set it all aside when it looked like Gen didn't get it. They're rather lovely together. <3

It's sort of awkwardly sexy (which is perfect) - the stop-start of Gen not being sure what to do next, but her also looking at her girlfriend in a new way, and thinking about their sex life in a different way, too. It's obviously not easy right now, but I love that she's giving it a go - and that they're talking through it, too!

I'm pretty excited to be getting a fill for my femslash unconventional-alpha prompt, too, btw. YAYS! :DDDDD

OP, your comment made me so happy. I was all giggling and squeeful. I figured out about halfway through the fill that the prospect for awkward!sex, a personal favorite of mine, was a lot of why I wanted to write it. And kink negotiation is another favorite thing of mine. And I love a/b/o. And also Gen. Basically, your prompt was a perfect storm of things I like, and I am thrilled to pieces that you like the results. :D

She leans down and noses Adrianne’s neck, breathes in the rich alpha odor of her, flicks her tongue out to taste.

The power of it makes Gen a little light-headed. Adrianne, too, going by the shallowness of her breath.
