I love how much Dee/Dean changes and how much she doesn't really change at all.

Nice details, things like sharp nails with chipped nail polish digging into Ruby’s skin. really helped to ground Dee as a character in her own right.

I particularly loved the "I'll show you mine!" line over the knives, because it's just so appropriate to Dean, no matter his sex or gender. It's also great that the relationship between Dee and Ruby is never pat, how they've forever got their own motivations and desires and goals, even if the desires occasionally mesh very well ;)

It was really important to me to consider how Dean would change while still keeping her basic personality the same, so it's good to know that came across okay. And, yeah, I wanted to make sure they were never friends, or even friendly, just that they understood each other enough for things to work... sort of. ;D

Oh oh oh. This is so fabulous; sharp and complicated and gorgeous. You write S3 Ruby SO WELL, I can just feel her come off the page. And Dee is a wonderful character here, too -- she feels like Dean but also like herself. And I can't get over Sam either, who's so perfect on the edges of this. This is smolderingly hot; I can taste the chemistry between them. You never sugarcoat anything, and it's stunning and complex and heart-wrenching.
