Hey there. Beryl here. I'm the Head Waitress here at the Fuzzy Duck Diner.
Our signature dish is the three-bird flame grilled double pounder in a sesame bun with a sprig of parsley on top. It comes with fries, cornbread, corncobs, garlic mushrooms, fried onions and all the beer you can drink. If you finish it all within half an hour you win a free meal and get your photo hung on our 'Wall of Flame'. I gotta say, not many manage it.
The guy who's currently taking the challenge is not like the usual potbellied gutlords we get in here, although the top button of his jeans looks in serious jeopardy. I wouldn't mind having his picture on our wall. He'd make a very refreshing change from all the flabby-faced gluttonous rednecks that usually take this challenge. How does someone even look that cute when they're shovelling mountains of junk food into their face?
He's really going for it; damn, those jaws are like perpetual motion - and I'm really not fixating on the way he licks those plush pink lips as he eats, really I'm not. It's altogether a thing of beauty. Although the equally cute, long-haired dude (Caesar Salad, low-fat mayonnaise) that's with him doesn't look impressed; in fact, he looks decidedly pissed. He looks like someone who's seen it all before, and never wants to see it again.
We're into the last five minutes now, and he's struggling, really struggling, but I really want him to win. The whole diner has ground to a halt to watch. He looks like he's about to hurl, but he's forcing it down. Every mouthful is an effort now, but there's just a few more to go.
We're all cheering him on … three … two … one …
And … TIME!
