[Open] Finding a Place to Stay

Sasuke walked slowly through the dark building, his black eyes traveling over closed doors and chipped walls.

Itachi leisurely followed a little ways behind his younger brother content to let Sasuke pick a room. He had tried to find a room earlier on some of the lower floors but his search was fruitless. All the rooms he had peered into were immediately deemed unsuitable for his younger brother and himself to live in for one reason or another.

Itachi sighed as he spotted the open door to the apartment Sasuke appeared to have chosen. As the missing nin stood in the doorway he looked around with a critical eye, it was the best room he'd seen thus far, so it would do for now. The space was going to require some minor fixing up. Nothing more, simply because Itachi wasn’t planning on staying in this place for long and was pretty sure Sasuke was on the same wavelength.

After a few minutes of silence Itachi spoke up,

"I take it this is where we'll be staying for now then?"

Sasuke glared at his brother a moment before turning and stalking back into the room.

"I guess so." he muttered, looking around the space.

There wasn't much, as he had noticed before. But there was the vitals: a bed, a couch (that looked about as old as Orochimaru) and a rickety old table. Sasuke inwardly shrugged and went to the dirty window. He had to scrub at the glass with his hand before he could see out.

The city looked dark and ominous from the high view of the Building. Sasuke frowned as he looked out at the place, already recognizing the landmarks (the staircase, the church...). He wondered how many people were living there and how many of those he knew. Kakashi had mentioned Haku and Neji but what if others arrived?

His hand curled into a fist on the window, leaving marks on the already dusty surface.

If there was a way in, then there must be a way out. Sasuke looked over his shoulder with ice cold eyes filled with hatred

Kakashi had wandered back to his apartment to gather the food he promised Sasuke. There was still quite a bit of frozen meat and vegetables from his excursion with Samus, though he was getting mortally tired of stir-fry. Hacking off a chunk of the frozen meat with kunai Kakashi dumped it an emptied medpack with some vegetables.
Humming a bit, he went back outside, looking for Sasuke.

Someone had opened the apartment door. Haku hoped that it was Kakashi, and not someone from another part of the city like what had happened with Robin. Of course, the latter was always possible, and while there hasn't been an incident of someone... mentally unsound accidentally visiting them, that didn't mean that it was never going to happen.

He picked up several senbon that he was examining a few moments ago and quietly went to look at the 'visitor' from around the doorframe. To his relief, it was Kakashi, who was preoccupied with putting raw meat in a medpack.

"Kakashi-san?"

Haku watched Kakashi walk out of the apartment, medpack in hand. Strange. He looked like he was looking for someone.

Wondering what it was about, Haku hid his senbon in the folds of his yukata before heading out of the apartment himself.

Itachi didn't fail to catch the look his brother had given him, strategically the elder Uchiha decided it would best to keep any snide comments to himself. Itachi moved silently around the apartment taking a mental note of anything in the apartment that would need their attention right away. A few minor leaks, the table looked as though it was on its last legs, some new bedding would be needed, and cleaning...

He sighed to himself the charka exhaustion was nudging him in the back of his mind. He didn't concern himself with his lack of charka too much though knowing that Sasuke was probably in the same boat as he. They had both used extremely powerful attacks before they had ended up on the staircase...

Sasuke sneered at his brother's back, turning away from the view through the window to stomp over to the door. Fatigue from his fight and their trek down the stairs was starting to catch up to him and make him grouchy. The young Uchiha stepped through the door of their new apartment and stood in the doorway, looking up and down the hall.

Didn't Kakashi say that he was going to meet them? Sasuke frowned. Surely the grey haired man would be able to pick out their chakra signatures. Maybe he got held up.

Sasuke didn't go back into his room though. Being in the same place as the brother made his blood boil and his hands clench into fists. He was too tired to fight anyways. Sasuke leaned against the doorway and waited.

Kakashi strolled down the building, senses open for Sasuke's chakra. Homing in on it like a beacon, Kakashi made his way down to the room that it was emanating from.
At the end of the hallway, he saw Sasuke, slouched against the door frame. He looked like he had just been forced to swallow a pulped lemon.
"Hey, Sasuke-kun." Kakashi raised a hand in greeting. He pulled out the (slightly wet) med pack and handed it to Sasuke. "I sure hope you like frozen vegetables."

Sasuke blinked and looked up as Kakashi came towards him. He looked down at the med pack and took it from his old teacher slowly, almost warily. The Uchiha looked back up at the silver haired man and gave him a short nod.

"Thank you." he said, about to head back into the apartment when another presence made him pause. It was familiar... In an old way. As if he hadn't felt it for a long time.

Sasuke's eyes snapped back to Kakashi's.

"Is Haku here?" he asked.
