Hey, guys. Recently I've been trying out different things with Spiral Energy and pulling some information out of Lord Genome on it. What I'm trying to do is figure out a way to use it when I'm not in Lagann

Well, I'm not a master or anything... but I did manage to put several Lion-types out of commission, and I think I got much better since then.
So if there's anything you need help with, I'll try to be of assistance. My specialty is ranged combat and support, but I have knowledge of close ranged tactics too.
I think you'll be getting a lot of response from us TSAB types, Simon, since this is how we always fight.
Plus, I admit I'm curious about the connection between magic and Spiral Power. The way you say Lord Genome fought doesn't sound unlike Velkan magical style.
I'm available whenever you are, although perhaps we could use practice swords again. I generally only use my fists for discipline.
There are two general schools of magic use that we're aware of. The most common one today is the Midchildan style, which is balanced to have a wide variety of uses and favors long-range shooting attacks. Nanoha is more or less the essential Mid-style mage.
Velkan style channels magical power directly into weapon strikes, like I do with Laevateinn. It's a more efficient use of energy, but it's not good for much except powerful offensives.
Recently, you have a few people who mix styles, though, like Subaru, who uses a Midchildan-made device mainly for punching people.
Ah, I gotcha, then. I'm pretty sure I can use it like that, but at the same time, Spiral Energy can do more. You've seen Gurren-Lagann in action. I'm basically turning energy into drills when I pilot.
You want our boss, dood! Kurtis takes on mecha on-foot on a regular basis, dood! He can teach you how to rocket punch and fire nuclear bombs from your chest and maybe even fire your own pringer beam, dood!

Actually, guys, I'm not so sure my special attacks can be "taught." Why, it's not like Simon is a specialized combat cyborg like I was as a human, is he?
However, I am up for teaching him a thing or two about fighting powerful enemies on foot!

Velkan magical style? Can you tell me what you know about that?
