There was (still is) a very old IOOF hall in my little town when I was a kid. It was a kitchen and big hall on the ground floor, and then there were stairs that went... up. Into the darkness.

Somehow we kids were told "that's where the bodies are" and even as an adult when a friend owned the building, I Could. Not. Go. Up. The. Stairs.

Eventually I did, but I felt... creepy.

I've been to one years ago that was pretty scary. it's cool that you are friends with the guy that did Universal's haunted house.

I remember when he came and asked if I wanted to dress up as a giant spider. Not the best role for an arachnophobe... He gave it to Rose, then friend, now wife of 40 years.
