We gave a go at snowshoeing and hit the dirt road by our house and a city park with some rentals. I did a scientific experiment and walked through a snowbank with the shoes and then with just my boots -- the shoes help a lot. When all is said and done though you're basically just walking in the snow.

My company booked Q-Haute in LaCaille Place for the Christmas Party this year. Carrie and I decided to dress up and take a taxi so we could both enjoy the festivities. We both had a great time and it was an very enjoyable evening (although the next day was a little rough).

We had a good Halloween this year. It was warm outside which meant a lot of kids came by the house. I carved a pumpkin in the likeness of Jack Skellington and it turned out pretty well I think. On the Saturday after Halloween, Carrie and I went out to the bar with some friends and partied it up. It was a lot of fun!

This post deals with how to recognize different types of trees from quite a long way away. To do this we hiked to larch valley which involves a lot of switch-backs and a vertical climb of 550 meters. Carrie's car got new headlights and taillights today. The stock SRT-4 has the same lights as the Neons do and it never looked good. I didn't even scrape my knuckles or curse getting them in which was cool. It's a big improvement in my opinion.

We made another trip out to Canmore this weekend to pick up the SRT-4. The clutch went on our last trip to the mountains and we left it behind to get repaired. While we were in the mountains we decided to go hiking.

For my birthday Carrie decided to surprise me by reserving a night at a mystery destination. The location turned out to be a cabin on Moraine Lake near Lake Louise. I've wanted to photograph Moraine Lake for quite a while -- It's the very famous landscape appearing on the old Canadian Twenty dollar bill.

I did another photoshoot with my niece Trinity the other day. She has been around for about 15 weeks now and is pretty cranky about it. Maybe it's the fear I instill in little children that causes her to cry so much?

Carrie and I were going to go hiking on the long weekend but we decided that we had too much stuff to do. We started looking for alternatives and came up with a Rodeo in Strathmore. It was actually really entertaining. They shot a dude out of a cannon, had a running of the bulls, and chuckwagons. Did I mention there was also mini-donuts?

Carrie and I went to Bowness Park to enjoy the sunshine today. It's a pretty nice place with lots of natural beauty and activities to do. You can rent boats, play minature golf, or just hang out. We opted for hanging out but picked up some cones to help us acheive best results -- I think it worked.
