Ok, so this is a lot of backstory for a ridiculous kinkmeme prompt, but just go with me here.
All that medication that suppresses emotion they give to everyone in the cities? It seems reasonable to assume it also suppresses things like sex drive. What I'd really like is a story exploring the messy, tangled origins of the Killjoys as these guys try to figure out who they really are. But for the purposes of this meme, I'd gladly take a snippet about that time they all (re)discovered how much fun their dicks are.
THIS THIS THIS. Oh man, this is just bringing back 1984 in my head, Anti-Sex League and all, and what would I give for Winston/Julia-esque shit like this? A lot. Firstborns may be involved.

Okay, it's really late and I'm barely awake so this could be incoherent, and this might not answer the prompt as well as you'd like, but the concept latched onto me and this happened. If I'm able to look at it in the morning and deem it not too terrible while awake, I might write one for each character, but here's some Mikeyway

The pill he picks out the next morning is another tablet like yesterday’s, but blue, and he crushes that one right after the pink one from yesterday.
The kid next to him starts tapping his pencil in the middle of class again, a steady click click click of plastic on plastic. Normally, it would just be noise, would just blend in with the whistles and clangs of the nitro factory next door, the faint buzzing of the lights overhead, but now that he’s taken notice, every click click click goes through him like a bell, loud and obnoxious and before he realizes what he’s doing, Mikey’s glaring at the kid and hissing, “Would you stop?” The kid flinches, but he stops. Mikey turns back to the teacher. He’s got that weird feeling again, tingly and a little hot, but it’s different this time. Not as nice

Ahahaha, that was actually my first attempt at writing anything heavier than makeouts, so glad you think so!
After all these POSITIVE RESPONSES I WAS SO NOT EXPECTING FOR SOMETHING I WROTE WHILE NOT OF SOUND MIND, OMG GUYS I LOVE YOU ALL, I think I might actually write follow-ups. If I get some studying done before late tonight, I'll see what I can do!

This is fucking phenomenal; this is exactly the kind of world I see in my head when I try and picture where the Killjoys come from, and this is a wonderful, wonderful exploration of the ways they might discover what else is out there.
(I know this is a kinkmeme, but! If there's a full, expanded version of this story somewhere inside you, please let it out, and I'm first on the list to read it ♥)

sldkfj this comment is amazing. I'm so glad you like this version of the Killjoy world; what I love about this universe is that we've got all this canon but we can pretty much interpret it however and everyone has their own spin on it. I just really loved the idea of each of them trying out little bits of rebellion like this, slowly becoming more dissatisfied with the world around them.
(Like I said in an earlier comment, I am actually working on more! I'm going to write piece for each of them, I think. I have Gerard's almost finished and ready for posting, and I have an idea of how Frank's is going to go. So don't worry, more is on the way!)

Oooo, backstory! This makes me so happy! I hadn't really put much thought into their early lives, honestly, and this is a great snapshot possibility. Yay brave!Mikey for trying to quit the pills! My first instinct would be to say that Gerard tried experimenting first, but it does make more sense now that Mikey would be the one to pull Gee along with him...

I don't actually know why Mikey hit me at first, but then I thought about it more, and, well, we all know Gerard and his dependency problems, right? He probably would have a lot more trouble dealing with being off the pills than Mikey, just getting used to not being in a flat drugged state all the time.
Backstory is kind of my favorite thing, even if I did kind of dig myself into a continuity hole between the dates and my re-aging (I'm thinking through everything before I write in this universe next time, agh). I love fleshing out this universe, and seeing what other people do with it. Thanks for the comment, I'm glad it makes you happy!

Gerard has to trust Mikey, he's the smart one! ...The smart one who sometimes forgets that household appliances don't belong in the shower!
You can't blame Gerard for having some doubts, okay.
