I'm not asleep. [But his eyes are closed, so it's natural for Kurapika to assume that he is. He probably looks dead than asleep, at any rate, because nothing is moving. Kurapika's up to something, he can hear it in the blond's voice, but he can't really be concerned enough to care.]
Your brain is going to rot and turn into a vegetable if you continue like this.
[He's standing by one end of the couch, where Kuroro's feet are. The man is at least dressed respectably, with clean clothes. He must have showered and changed after coming back from hitting those three victims.
[There being the kitchen counter. He doesn't seem inclined to gesture or indicate where 'there' is anymore than saying it. If Kurapika didn't find all of them despite the extra effort it took to put them there, then it's no longer any of Kuroro's concern, that's all.]
[The dismissive, uncaring answer would normally anger him immediately. It's as if his partner does not give a damn what he thinks about finding stolen items from both people he knows and complete strangers. No, it's not even just an assumption; Kuroro should know very well what he thinks of such activities, and to brazenly display evidence without a single whit of consideration for what he feels about all this...
But Kurapika is distracted and anxious, all too conscious of the ball of unease forming at the pit of his stomach. The thought that in a few more minutes he'll have managed to lock Kuroro somewhere he can't hurt himself or anyone else is probably the only reason keeping him from losing his temper and doing something rash.]
Did you put them there knowing I'll return them when I see them?

While Kurapika and Kuroro were talking, Roy happened to be making his way over to the Communal. He had decided not to bring Lady with him - he did not think he'd need his Weapon, not with Cloud and Sephiroth coming around.
The Meister walked down the street, heading for the entrance to the apartment.
Given how close they lived to Kurapika and Kuroro, it had been a simple matter of going up a flight of stairs and leaning against the wall to wait. His arms were crossed over his chest, and he was keenly aware of his quiet Weapon. This was an unusual request, but he respected Kurapika's decision.
They were there as escorts in case things got out of hand. He wasn't expecting that it would. He actually hoped Sephiroth being there would deter any kind of resistance, given the two were friends. All he had to do was support Kurapika and make sure Mustang didn't end up choking on stolen goods along the way.
Sephiroth had been quiet for most of the day. When the call from Kurapika came in, his silence only seemed to stretch as he remained lost in thought. He didn't say much when the plan to head up and escort the Meister out was made, and simply followed after Cloud as they made their way up stairs.
Now they were waiting, for what, he wasn't certain, but if he was to talk to Kuroro, then it would be when they were alone and not before.
Roy paused once at the lobby to double check Kuroro and Kurapika's address before heading on up. He blinked when he saw that Cloud and Sephiroth were already there once he arrived, and nodded.
He'd heard them outside the door the moment they came. It wasn't difficult, give how close the living room was to the kitchen and the main entrance to their unit. What made him wonder was why they were taking so long outside, and if he cared a little more, Kuroro might have been amused or impatient.
Instead, he stayed where he was without bothering to acknowledge the small gathering outside, his mind a disconcerting blank.
Kurapika was distracted, distressed, staring at the back Kuroro had turned on him, at the cushion covering his head, and his own mind was as blank as his partner's but in a different way--too many thoughts, partial and unformed and drifting and crashing into each other--it was like listening to white noise, and even though he was straining to hear any signs of people approaching their door he'd somehow missed what Kuroro had heard. The first knock, when it came, felt to him like a light at the end of a dark tunnel he'd been trying to escape for a long time. The blond waited for a beat to see whether Kuroro was going to stir--he didn't, as Kurapika had expected. By this time he was already starting to get the feeling that Kuroro knew what was happening. Should he just call the entire thing off, if that was the case?
Kurapika silently padded to the door to pull it open. It felt like he was sleep-walking, watching a nightmare tinted with red.

Roy smiled just a bit when he saw who had answered, and nodded.
"Kurapika."
His gaze then moved past the Weapon, looking, of course, for Kuroro. Cloud and Sephiroth were right behind him - they were more than welcome to move in if they wanted to.
Cloud had folded his hands behind his head by this point, doing everything to look like a casual participant to this impromptu meeting in his friend's apartment. He noted Kurapika's eye colour and clamped the other blond on the shoulder in a silent show of support.
His eyes flicked around the apartment to settle on Kuroro, and he held up a hand in greeting. "Yo, upstairs neighbours," he called as he stepped in and moved off towards one side of the room. He knew that Sephiroth would follow and most likely cover for the balcony.

Three. Are there any more?]
Did you steal anything else?
