Characters: Aya and Eve Brea Location: Brea residence. Rating: G Time: September 11, very early! Description: Breakfast in bed… because Aya deserves it!
Aya scarcely dreamed, but when she did, they were shrouded in nightmarish memories replayed over and over. Ever since arriving in this world, she hadn't experienced one--truly, until today. As the dreams tore and pulled at her mind, her body only laid there calmly, even as Eve made her way into her bedroom. And it wasn't until Aya heard her sister's soft voice that she could be returned to reality in one swift moment-- so all that had been terrible and frightening was suddenly gone, and all that remained was her sister's warming presence
( ... )
Happily unaware of such nightmares or troubles, the small bundle of joy in Aya’s arms reciprocated the embrace, smiling proudly as she too pulled her older sister close, resting her head over the comforting woman’s chest.
“Of course I’ll help if you want!” Eve nodded solemnly, looking over all she’d made. Maybe it was a little too much for one person. It could almost be a feast for two! Nodding to herself, without hesitation her small hand reached out for a quarter square of roughly cut toast. It wasn’t as nice as Aya made, but it was still delicious in her books.
“Mmmm!” She murmured, swallowing the bit with a satisfied twinkle in her eye. She couldn’t help but look for Aya’s reaction now. “What’re you going to have?.”
Aya found her eyes shutting in peace as Eve embraced her, and that the nightmarish memories of their past were suddenly taken away. It took a few beats for the blond to realize Eve had asked a question, but her eyes eventually opened again and she flashed her sister a brilliant, but brief smile.
"This toast looks tempting," she murmured, taking the other corner of it. After biting in, Aya gave Eve a kiss on the top of her head. "Perfect," she assessed proudly, and then pulled the girl back onto the mattress.
"Eve," she began softly, staring at the ceiling. "Can... you feel me here, like you did back home?"
“Ummmm.” Eve whispered, kneading a small warm comforting spot in the crux of Aya’s arm with her head. The familiar warmth was making her want to crawl under the blankets and fall asleep in her sisters arms… But something on the edge of her mind brought her back into the here and now. It heralded an alarm bell that made her freeze up and want hide in the deepest recesses of her room. The thing on her mind was Aya’s question.
“I…. don’t know.”
Blue eyes blinked several times before Aya got a meek reply, the silence in between long enough to create its own blanket; one as heavy as it was burdening.
“It’s not as easy as it was… But when I’m scared or when I really, really think about you… I can kind of feel you.”
As if bracing herself for the first and maybe last time, Eve raised two worried hands up to clasp her sisters arm, continuing as if she may not like the answer.

“Is that bad Aya?”
