My, my, how interesting.

[There’s someone obviously talking but the screen is blank, showing only a table when the feed begins to play. Evidently, the person in question is still somewhere in the room, but where? Left, right, up, down...a pair of glasses? But that can’t be right; glasses don’t talk and glasses certainly can't make posts.]Good ( Read more... )

But if your partner is wearing the glasses then they won't be able to shoot laser beams from their eyes, now will they?

Perhaps they might, but that remains to be seen!

So do we get to see the man behind the glasses then? We wouldn't want people to become paranoid that every pair of glasses they see might be talking glasses that shoot laser beams, after all.

I would normally question the validity of that thought, but I've seen worse in my pleasant welcome here. Just a moment, if you would.

[And voila! Jade switches to the video function with no problem at all.]

Now, may I know who am I speaking to? Fair's fair after all; I offer you a face, and you offer your name in return. Simple, isn't it?

I think you gave the phrase 'brainy specs' just a new meaning.

Did I now? I feel so honored.

No need to get moody about it. The most nasty blows come always from places where you don't expect them from, don't they?

I wouldn't say all of them were unexpected, but the story of my blow against a conveniently-placed chair is one that will continue to be used as a moral story for years to come.

Just because you're a pair of glasses doesn't mean that you're useless in the war.

[Have a huff and crossed arms.]

You probably have some ability that you can use.

'Probably' and 'definitely' are not the same words, you know.

Fine. 'Definitely.' Happy?

Absolutely! I feel so empowered now that I may attempt to walk off this table in some noble but misguided attempt to be of help.

Ah, glasses......? Um, hello....?

Hello. May I help in some way, limited as it may be?

[...As unflappable as Jade is, he almost can't help but be amused.]

I assure you, I've never felt better- or clearer. It's actually a rather insightful experience!

Oh, you never know. Weapons usually have something to do with a skill of yours from your home. You could surprise yourself.

That's a thought. However, as amusing as it is, I highly doubt that the ability to irritate people is of much use in a war.

I don't know. Could be a useful distraction technique, although your meister would have to be very quick at running.
