[The face of a young man appears on the screen. Though he’s pushing thirty he looks like a teenager or a man in his early twenties - certainly not like a near-thirty-year-old with three PhD's and two bachelors degrees with another on the way under his belt. He’s pretty enough, and his hair comes down to his shoulders and curls. When he lifts a hand ( Read more... )

[She looks suitably impressed and interested]

That's quite an impressive resume. [She smiles gently, leaning back slightly to consider his questions]

I've heard customers say the Maid Cafe has the best coffee-- [But that might just be because of the girls there too. Herp.]

...I'll admit I'm curious in asking more about your job, but... Is your leg alright? [That's the most important thing here]

[He seems slightly embarrassed by the compliment.] Thanks. [Then he blinks. A maid cafe? In Nevada? He thought those were primarily found in Japan or at anime conventions.] Oh, it's fine. [After clearing his throat slightly, Spencer glances away nervously, breaking eye contact.] You have questions?

[She raises her eyebrows in a pointed, 'is it really fine?' look.] Still, you should see the clinic.

[She pauses a moment to consider her questions, not sure where to even begin. After a moment she picks up her pen to jot down the information he's already given her]

You profile the person who did the crime, in the hopes of finding that person who fits that profile? [She asks it slowly, to make sure she understands]

What sorts of things go into a profile?

[He counters back with an "Of course it's fine; I'm a doctor" look that involves a steady stare and a raised eyebrow.] Sure. [But said in a way that means no, he probably won't.]

That's correct. [Nervously, he clears his throat.] There are a lot of things that go into the profile. We look at victomology, the geographical area of the crimes and the make up of people and the environment in that are, and if there are suspects we look at their histories and try to eliminate people based on factors we deduce. It requires a lot of knowledge about criminal behavior, facts, and statistics.

I might be missing information, but from what I've gather, to help directly with the war, one must find a partner; a Weapon, if you are a Meister or the other way around. Through resonance between the two of you, you can fight the Witches or go on missions to search for kishin eggs.

If, on the other hand, you'd rather help some other way, there are several groups meant to protect the city. I don't think they require you to have a partner, but you will need to ask them.

[she was about to shut up, but remembers one of his last questions] As for coffee, I advise you to search for your favourite brand and just add "Death" to the name, it usually works.

[So much information at once.] What's the best way to find a partner? Do I just... ask? Or is there a better way? I don't suppose you know the names of those groups, do you?

[And then, in his barrage of questioning, Spencer pauses for a split second.]

So if I wanted Starbucks really badly would it be Deathbucks or DeathStarbucks? [Saying "DeathStarbucks" seems to please him slightly. He's a nerd, after all.]

I can't help you there, since I'm not interested in finding a partner. But most people ask, though. I don't know how effective that method is.

The groups are the Watch is an example, and Roy Mustang is the leader. And there is a brigade now, SEES, Souji Seta is the leader.

[She nods] Something like that, yes.

Oh. Well. [He seems to be thrown off by that for a moment (Why wouldn't people want to help with the war?) but recovers after clearing his throat.] Thanks for your help anyway, and I'll be sure to check those two out.

It doesn't do much here. [he means the smarts and perfect memory, but cryptic Monk is cryptic as usual]

The...thinking, and remembering. [vague hand motion]

You're better off using the gun. Just thinking makes you useless here.

My gun was taken when I arrived. [He seems kind of offended at the thought that thinking might not help.]

I don't understand most of what you just said!

...but if you want to help, maybe you could join the Watch?
