[Today, Kyon is sitting on a park bench, talking to a calico cat. Occasionally, he'll pause briefly, almost as if he were waiting for the cat to reply, before continuing on. Largely just about what his life has been like since arriving in Mayfield. Feel free to interrupt his one sided conversation at any point.]

[Chie is a little out of it, considered...well, she was shot, and she hasn't spoken to anyone about it, really. She finds herself staring at Kyon absentmindedly, and decides to speak up before he notices her with a goofy look on her face.]

Oh. Hey. That cat yours?

I'd be surprised if we were even on the map, haha...

But still, I've been to bigger cities before! [She's aware she's sounding like a hick, and tries to stop.]

What's it like back in Inaba then? Anything interesting?

[counterstrikes]

W-well, we have the Amagi Inn! It's famous in some circles, and...

Yeah, not much, but it's home, you know?

[sosnarrator]

Right, it'd be better than this place at least.

[counterstrikes]

I'd rather be in the middle of a desert in this place, but you're right.

[sosnarrator]

Right, at least a desert tends to have a way out.

Ugh, this place doesn't even have any Kung-Fu. What am I supposed to do about that...?

What about you, though? What kind of hobbies do you have?

[sosnarrator]

Just the average stuff, y'know... Anime, manga, movies, video games, all pretty ordinary. Not that there's a whole lot of that here. I haven't read an issue of Shonen Jump in months.

[counterstrikes]

Man, I'd give up meat for a week for just one round of King of Fighters right now. Maybe they'll send us some of that stuff from home eventually.

[sosnarrator]

I've got my laptop, but the only game I've got installed on that is "The Day of Sagittarius III", which is more of a strategy based game than a fighter. Besides, with only one computer, I can only use single player mode...

[counterstrikes]

Strategy isn't really my thing, but would you mind if I tried it out sometime? I'd give anything to try something normal for once.

[sosnarrator]

Sure, make sure to remind me sometime when I've got the computer with me.
