Politicians never fail to amaze me. Yesterday I read a story on the Torontoian site that reported a 3-month pilot project of a new MONSTER trashbin (aka advertising billboard disguised as trashbin) was given a failing grade by the committee set up to decide it. However in some bizarre contract twist the garabage cans cannot be removed until 2008!

The current Environmental Bill of Rights says any new regulations must be posted for 30 days for review and comment before going into effect, but the gov't decided to exempt themselves from it in the case of ramming through new legislation for Nuclear Plants. The province's environmental watchdog caught them trying to bypass the law and slapped them on the wrist. Sheesh.
