ChangMin had left early that morning and now he was alone. He had woken JaeJoong and has given him a kiss on his forehead and promised to come home as soon as possible. Only after JaeJoong had promised to stay indoors near the staff ChangMin was reassured and left.
JaeJoong did not know when ChangMin exactly returned. He also was not sure where exactly he was or what he was doing. ChangMin had many important tasks and responsibilities. Only JaeJoong asked himself what his duties were... He was also, like ChangMin a prince... JaeJoong decided no longer to think about it, he trusted ChangMin and when ChangMin thought he had to stay home then he did it.
"Master? There is a visit for you." JaeJoong looked surprised at the servant who now deeply bowing before him. "Who is it? JaeJoong asked nervously. "A vampire, my lord ... His name is Park YooChun and he claimed to know you." The servant spoke cautiously, ready to instruct the guards to send the vampire away as his master did not know the vampire. JaeJoong wondered whether it was possible that the vampire knew him.
"I want two guards with me when I met the Vampire, Park YooChun." The servant bowed deeply again and gave his orders to the rest of the staff before he brought JaeJoong to a neat reception room. JaeJoong sat on the couch and watched the door nervously.
Two guards came through the same door as JaeJoong inside and stood beside him. The guards were vampires, and were broad-shouldered and had a bunch of dangerous weapons on their belts. Quietly, he waited until the servant opened the door and a vampire, the same age as himself was brought inside. The vampire immediately bowed respectfully and sat on his knees before JaeJoong on the ground.
JaeJoong could not take his eyes off the vampire, he had the strong feeling that he recognized the vampire from somewhere... Only he did not know where he knew him from! "Uh... Who are you?" JaeJoong watched the vampire attentively, his friendly face, short black hair, calluses of the hard work on his hands... "I'm Park YooChun, my lord ... Perhaps you know me, I played with you when you were little. My father worked for your parents in the castle and I had the honor to play with you."
JaeJoong's mouth dropped open when he heard the words from YooChun and he stood up. He knew now where he knew YooChun from! YooChun was the child of his dreams, they were really playing together when they were little! The guards made an tense impression when JaeJoong stood. When JaeJoong saw this he gave a calm sign that nothing was wrong.
"I vaguely remember you ... Tell me more about yourself." JaeJoong decided to sit down again and felt excited. He was relieved that he still knew someone from his past!
YooChun looked at him and nodded. My father was the chamberlain from your father and because he had a fairly high position he could take me to work, because I have no mother... I always played with you in the castle gardens and when the moon was full we played hide and seek." JaeJoong saw YooChun smiled as he recalled his childhood and then his gaze focused on JaeJoong. "You probably cannot remember, but when we were little we always played together and we were best friends." YooChun looked at him and smiled again sincerely to JaeJoong. "I'm glad you're back, my lord. When I heard the news of you and your family, I was shocked! I am delighted that Prince ChangMin now cares for you.
JaeJoong remembered that ChangMin had told him everyone was slain in the castle from his parents and worried he wondered if everything was alright with YooChun's father. "Did your father survive?" YooChun suddenly looked sad and shook his head. "No, my lord ... I was raised by relatives."
When JaeJoong heard this he looked sad. He was not the only one who had lost a loved one. "I'm sorry for you..." YooChun shook his head immediately, "Please do not apologize, it's the fault of those cursed Vampire Hunters! As long as the war lasts there are casualties and stops only when we as vampires win the war!
JaeJoong remembered that ChangMin once before had talked about a war and he assumed that the man who had attacked him must be a vampire hunter! JaeJoong felt uncomfortable, he knew nothing about the war and he did not know what's going on outside at all! "YooChun, please ... I do not want that people in my presence spoke about the war."
JaeJoong gulped and felt equally uncomfortable. If he thought about the war than he had to think immediately of the vampire hunters and the hunters have imprisoned him for years! When JaeJoong finally looked up he saw YooChun looked at him worried. Then YooChun bowed apologetically. "I'm sorry, my lord. You've bad memories of the vampire hunters. I will not start over again in your presence!

When ChangMin walked in he immediately looked worried. He smelled the scent of an unknown vampire!
"Where is JaeJoong?" A servant stood and bowed for ChangMin before he answers. " Master JaeJoong has a visit, my lord. The vampire called Park YooChun and seems harmless... Lord JaeJoong has two guards with him and the guards are convinced that your wife is not at risk." ChangMin was not convinced, he wanted to speak with Park YooChun first before he trusted him and walked to the waiting area. Without knocking, he opened the door and walked inside.
JaeJoong sat on the bench and two of his guards stood beside him. On the floor sat the vampire Park YooChun. YooChun bowed respectfully when ChangMin walked inside. ChangMin nodded briefly to the vampire and turned to JaeJoong and kissed his forehead. ChangMin decided to sit down next to JaeJoong and put his arm protectively around JaeJoong's shoulder. He turned with a friendly glance at YooChun, "Mr. Park, I heard that you knew my wife?"
YooChun bowed respectfully and again repeated his story for ChangMin. When ChangMin looked questioningly at JaeJoong and he saw the happy look in his eyes, he made a decision. "Mr. Park, what do you think to come here to work as the head servant of my wife?" ChangMin saw JaeJoong looked at him smiling broadly, and he knew it was good for JaeJoong to have a friend with him, someone he knew all his life and someone he can trust.
"It is an honor for me to work for your wife, Mr. ChangMin." ChangMin clapped his hands and stood up. "That's settled then! If you have your papers today and bring your stuff over here, you can immediately start tomorrow!" YooChun followed ChangMin's example and stood up and thanked him again for this great honor and smiled at JaeJoong. "It is good to see you again, Mr. JaeJoong..."

"Thank you, thank you, thank you," cried JaeJoong again and again and hugged ChangMin gratefully. A few minutes later, YooChun came back with a bunch of heavy bags over his shoulder and a pair of official papers in his hand. YooChun had given the documents to ChangMin and quickly he checked of everything was complete and correct. YooChun had been assigned a room close to the personal leave from ChangMin and JaeJoong. An elderly servant was sent up to YooChun and to explain him everything that was expected from him now that he worked for JaeJoong. The servant handed him a manual of etiquette and rules that all he needed.
It was YooChun's job to take care of all JaeJoong's meals, cleaning JaeJoong's personal room, receiving JaeJoong's visitors and giving orders to the lower staff if something should be done for JaeJoong. But the most important task was to protect JaeJoong. Every servant knew that they had to risk their lives in order to protect their masters. The servants were allowed to kill if necessary. YooChun had no problems with his duties and he took the protection from JaeJoong very seriously. He had once before JaeJoong protected. He was the one that the vampire hunter had shot when JaeJoong was in danger. He decided to tell it Mr. ChangMin later when he had a chance.
He suspected that he could not discuss the subject in JaeJoong’s presence. YooChun had been searching for the hunter and had followed him when he kidnapped JaeJoong. Hyung Su was the hunter who had slain his father, many years ago and he had sworn revenge! The killing of vampire hunters he had no problem during the protection of JaeJoong. He did it with pleasure for his best friend and his new master. Determined YooChun decided that he would do anything for his new master and the Crown Prince to protect. He was even prepared to battle the armies of the vampire hunters if necessary!
When YooChun woke up a few hours before dawn he had reserved food for JaeJoong and ChangMin JaeJoong smiled at him. JaeJoong took the glass, filled with blood and took a sip of enjoying. The blood tasted anything other than normal but it was not dirty. Probably he drank blood from another blood type.
By the time YooChun served the food JaeJoong felt light-headed. He grabbed ChangMin's arm and leaned his head against his shoulder. "Jae ...?"Far away JaeJoong heard how ChangMin called him. His head suddenly felt so heavy, his mouth was dry and he felt his whole body began to tingle. JaeJoong realized that something had been in the blood, something which made him so sick! JaeJoong tried to open his mouth and say something to ChangMin but the only sound he made was a low moan. Again he tried to speak but gave up, he was too tired.
JaeJoong's eyes began to feel heavy and he had the greatest trouble to keep them open. ChangMin picked him up and shouted at the servants and the guards around him. What ChangMin said could JaeJoong not hear, his ears hummed and his head throbbed.
JaeJoong opened his eyes, he could not remember that he closed his eyes... And saw YooChun's face above him. YooChun spoke to him, his lips moved up and down but JaeJoong still heard nothing. A pair of strong arms lifted him and carried him to the bedroom. People ran around him and shouted things to each other. Doors slammed shut and someone put a warm blanket over him. Even under the warm blanket he was cold and in his panic when he did not know where ChangMin was he started to become restless. "M- Min ..." JaeJoong ChangMin tried to call but he was afraid that ChangMin not to hear him. His voice was too weak. "I'm here" said ChangMin and grabbed JaeJoong's cold hand.
He felt ChangMin holding his hand was immediately relaxed. Not much later he lost his consciousness.
ChangMin had to retrieve his personal healer for JaeJoong. Dr. Young Saeng shone a light on JaeJoong's eyes and pricked with a needle in JaeJoong's fingertips. Dr. Young Saeng smelled JaeJoong's blood and grimaced. "Sir, I need a blood transfusion to run on your wife, I now urgently need blood type O! Bring everything you have!”
ChangMin ran as fast as he could and took personally all the blood he had and brought it to JaeJoong. He trusted his staff no longer after this incident. Somebody from his staff had JaeJoong's blood poisoned and he found out who it did! It was impossible that a vampire hunter to be unseen in and out of his house could have come, at least not without help!
ChangMin suspect anyone besides YooChun. ChangMin knew him when people lied or hid anything for him. YooChun had not lied, he was innocent. "Close the doors and let nobody out!" ChangMin shouted over his shoulder at anyone in particular and lifted all the blood he had to Dr. Young Saeng. He had four liters of blood taken, enough for a transfusion, and even some extra blood for as a new problem emerged. "Get more new blood" ChangMin wanted an extra blood in the house for if there is something happening.
Dr. Young Saeng took several tubes in the veins from JaeJoong and carried out the transfusion. "How bad is he?" ChangMin felt terrible, the idea that he would lose JaeJoong perhaps he might not endure. "I am hopeful that all will be well, my lord ... You have responded quickly and that is probably the salvation of your wife. I am hopeful that the poison in the heart of your wife has not yet reached. ChangMin nodded and swore revenge! The vampire who was responsible would wish he had never been born!
Dr. Young Saeng was a total of five hours busy with JaeJoong and stopped when it was almost noon. JaeJoong was stable and would get better. Dr. Young Saeng said that JaeJoong was forced to lie in bed for at last for two weeks he had to remain and revitalize. Dr. Young Saeng wanted JaeJoong follow a diet of blood and easily digestible food.
ChangMin had all vampires now standing together again the wall. He had YooChun mandate to monitor JaeJoong, already knowing that YooChun was innocent and watched every vampire, man and woman suspiciously. "I know one of you has tried to poison my wife and I will find out who. One of you is responsible for this and now I want to know who it is! "Let the person who are responsible for this to come forward NOW!"
No one moved and all the vampires were looking intently at their feet, terrified of the wrath of their master. "Well ... Then we play it your way" ChangMin whispered and walked to the first vampire in the line. He grabbed the vampire's chin and forced the man to look up at him. ChangMin's pupils were turned dark gray when he looked at the vampire. "Have you poisoned my wife or are you accomplices?" The man shook his head anxiously and said nothing. "Speak!" ChangMin growled furiously against the vampire. The vampire began to tremble with fear as he looked at his master. "N no ... My lord," stammered the vampire. ChangMin liberated the vampire from his grasp, he had noticed no lies and turned to the next vampire. A female vampire was second in the row and the vampire looked pleadingly at him. ChangMin repeated his actions at every vampire until he found a lie. The vampire lied to him when he asked his questions.
The vampire who lied against him was a man and he worked less than a year for him. He was responsible or a accomplice ! ChangMin grabbed him and dragged him to an empty room, leaving his terrified and relieved staff behind. They were afraid for their lord because she never had seen as angry now! Each clerk was happy that the perpetrator was caught and hoped he got what it deserved!
Worried they asked themselves why a vampire had turned against his own master... This was very strange!
ChangMin hit the door with a bang behind him and threw the vampire in a corner. The vampire hissed and bared his teeth. The terrified vampire knew his end was near and would not surrender without a fight and jumped towards ChangMin!

Outside, at a safe distance, three men were standing side by side in the shade of an old tree and looked fixedly at the great house from ChangMin. This was their chance, now they could kill the bloodsucker! Nobody expected that ChangMin would be betrayed by one of his own kind. This was their best plan so far! With an evil laugh, one of the men called his master and said excitedly, "it happened, we now have to wait until the poison is going to work .."
The man hung up the phone and put it back in his pocket. Sooner or later we get you, Shim ChangMin... I swear to you, within a year I have slain all of you! "The three men turned and walked away. At sunset they would return and see if their plan had worked...
