Subtle difference

There is a subtle difference between restaurants in Delhi and Bombay. In Bombay the waiters/captains always serve the dishes into your plate after naming the dish and asking for veg/non-veg preferences. In Delhi they just name the dish and put it on the table; you have to serve yourself or specifically ask to be served. The naming and the asking is

i found it quite strange to see waiters serving in b'bay when i landed in kresit. :) kinda royal treatment. used to make me quite uncomfy though. sometimes, still does! :P

nother thing u shud notice is -- nimbu, pyaaj, achaar. they NEVER serve it in delhi restraunts.

Arre they serve achar, nimbu, pyaaj these days as a standard fixture.

I am hardly a new comer to Delhi. I grew up here - 11 years :). Back after a long break yes.
