The others had returned to the library, now safe if not all in the best of health, and made comfortable so they could recover. Once they, and the spoils of the two hunts, had been taken care of for the time being, Tyr had settled down for a rest. He wasn't particularly tired, but the conference was coming soon and it was a good idea to be as well rested as possible.

He had just arisen, heading out to the courtyard to check the others when he heard a scuffling sound from a little used room on the ground floor. He turned just as a dark shape burst through the doorway. He let out a startled yell and in one swift move had his staff out and extended, moving into a braced protective stance. He flashed back to the large, hard shelled, creature that had attacked the Library not too long ago, and was determined that if this one was a similar threat it would go no farther without a fight.

Taking the chance that it might understand, or at least draw attention and warn the others, he yelled out to it. "Hey! Stop!"

X'enodrove pivoted suddenly, using the sticky hairs and claws on only two of his legs to hold him to the wall as he swung around. He rose his arms, lethal spider-fang daggers appearing in an instant. He crouched low to the wall he was on, a compressed ball of energy ready to attack. His arachnid mind analyzed the threat before him ( ... )

While relieved that the creature was capable of speech, Tyr had to suppress a shiver at the others eerie voice. He stayed on guard, taking a chance to really observe the others appearance while figuring out how to answer it's demands. Darkness seemed to be the first priority, and other than the sleeping rooms upstairs, all he could think about was the basement rooms. While he hadn't yet ventured into them himself, the others had spoken of them and he knew where they were. There was a lot less of a chance of running into someone there and if he could get the arrival in a place that they felt comfortable with, maybe they could discuss things without coming into conflict ( ... )

The drider did not trust the demonling, but again the drow's voice reassured it. "Follow him, do not trust entirely, stay alert, but follow." With daggers still held tight and poison ready in its ducts, the drider crept along the wall, careful to neither get too far ahead or behind the half-breed. If there was one thing the drider didn't trust, it was half breeds, especially as it was one itself.

While it crawled along the wall, something came to its attention, sounds of other lifeforms. The drider launched off the wall and onto the half-demon, pinning him to the floor. "You lead to others? You have nest here? We HATE treachery much as we HATE drow!" He slashed down at the demonling, angry that this being might attempt such a foolish and cowardly deception.

Someone had entered the library, with that suddenness that was associated with new arrivals. Nei'ess froze where he sat on the roof and cast his sight downward, not liking what he saw. It looked meaner than any of the 19 races. He clambered down the staircase nosily, lacking all grace and stealth as usual, and arrived at the ground floor in time to see the spidery thing pin Tyr to the ground while yelling.

The circle for the shield spell flashed in front of him, barely wrapping around Tyr before the thing slashed at him. Nei'ess stood panting from the run and leaning on the doorwell to the stairs, his position no secret after his spell.

That thing was trying to hurt his friend. Nei'ess was running a short temper right now, nerves far too raw, and barely kept from doing something stupid. He restrained himself to "yelling" at their new guest.

GET OFF OF HIM. WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY LIBRARY?
