Okay. I saw Harry Potter last night, along with millions of other people across the world last night. For just the midnight showings in the US alone, the movie made over 43 million dollars. Woah. It's a new record. :)

I have to say: I LOOOOOOVED the movie. So much. It was spectacular. There was a lot that was missing/added/changed, but I still ( Read more... )

Glad you liked and had a good time!

We have a lot of the same thoughts about the movie, reading this. Overall I loved it, but some of the things you bought up as not caring for, I agree with, even if mostly I usually try and ignore for my own sanity and movie watching enjoyement, lol

I think having Voldemort actually die and leave his body behind, would have been much more fitting for his story, and followed by a huge celebration like in the books, even if just in the background, while Harry escape's for peace and quiet.

And until this post, I never even noticed the missing "why do you live?" part, and now I have I'm so upset it got cut :( Everyone loved that line when they put the first trailer out *prays for deleted scenes*

I badly need to see it again, possibly in 3D, just to say I did

McGoogles
She was basically my favourite person in this entire film. The way she stepped in front of Harry nearly had me in tears, the HBIC that she was!

Also fun: Neville's uncertainty: "You're really giving us permission? (...) Like, BOOM?"
McG: "BOOM!"

I was a little worried that they wouldn't have Neville kill the snake
OMG ME TOO. I was terribly afraid they were going to give his epicness to someone else but they didn't. Neville is made of awesome. I was so proud of him when all the Death Eaters laughed at him and he just... rose above everything and everyone with his conviction.

The escape on the dragon being Hermione's idea
I actually kind of liked that, because it's so not usual Hermione. It was such a Gryffindor thing to do.

Harry saying 'he knew' he was Horcrux 'for a while.'I also kind of liked that. To me, it makes so much more sense that at least Hermione had been afraid of it for a while. I mean, they explore so many possibilities in their search for the Horcruxes, it seemed odd to me that they wouldn't even consider ( ... )
