When I came home on Sunday, M. made me brownies to cheer me up. Last night, he decided we were both too chubby, and took me on a 5-mile "hike" around our neighborhood. (That really did cheer me up.) Thank you! Andrew is actually pretty neat when he's sharing space with another person, so I don't trip over his stuff at all. He only produces clutter if he has a private room that he can use as a repository. I must say I'm surprised about his organization level in common space--pleasantly surprised, of course.

I'd totally go hiking with you, and yes, urban walking can still be a hike. I love walking, but poor Andrew has foot problems so I usually have to go it alone. Walking is great exercise though; it builds long, lean muscles. In spite of my generally iffy health, I do have good aerobic fitness, and I attribute that to walking.

Of course urban walking is a hike. Especially if you get lost.

Hike: n, To go on an extended walk for pleasure or exercise

Ergo you can hike even in the suburbs.
