Yeah, I always go back and forth about this aspect! I do like my hair long enough to put it in a ponytail/bun. But then... isn't that just getting rid of my hair and throwing it out of the way and not really doing anything with it? SO WHY DO I HAVE SO MUCH OF IT? I don't style it much now anyway, so it feels like such a waste... Anyway, I was thinking about going short now so that way it'll have time to grow out enough to be at least semi-tie-able by summertime. Hmmm...! Thanks for the advice. :D

I can't even remember ever spending over $100 on a single item of clothing! !!!! That's what I mean, it's twilight zone shopping... you look at a $1,000 price tag and suddenly $300 is like "GOTTA BUY IT NOW!" So much for "not traveling this vacation to save money," right? Staying at home and shopping is way more dangerous!

Those are two pretty extreme shopping options - wow!

I never had really long hair, but it used to be mid-back and now it's just past shoulder. Whenever I meet people I haven't seen for awhile they always comment on it and seem sad that it's not long anymore. Also, my husband, and even a couple of my guy friends, have been vocal about how it looks better when I start to let it grow out a bit. *sigh* I sometimes want shorter hair too, but apparently I'm weak and don't want it enough to go against the taste of the husband and other straight-guys.

I will say that if you're going to experiment with shorter hair, do it now while you're young! It's too late for me, in my 40s, to cut my hair short without looking older - it's like the inevitable path to middle-age.

It can always grow back :-)

Haha, that's so true! I'm just always worried about what a dramatic haircut will ~communicate~ about my life (I know it's dumb to think about that stuff, but there it is). Like, in college, it's super cliched to cut everything off to be like YEAH I'M AN ADULT NOW, so I never really did it. And then I worry about having "mom" hair (not that there is anything wrong with moms OR their hair -- but I have been browsing pictures of haircuts, and then unrelatedly also trying to dig up some old family photos, and when I saw a fifteen year old picture of my mom with the same haircut I was just looking at earlier that same day I was like NOOOOO, THE PROPHECY HAS BEEN FULFILLED!!).

...When did hair become so complicated. Sigh. This is why I usually just give up and do nothing.
