RE: Spooks - PICSPAM PICSPAM PICSPAM! It was perfect. It was like it was written for me, and me alone. I am going to obtain it via nefarious means (even though I legitimately watched it on the Beeb) just so I can watch it endlessly and cap the hell out of it and caress it and love it and call it George.
(Missed Merlin, so am avoiding top bit of your post.)
It was like it was written for me, and me alone. Clearly we are both watching Spooks for the same reasons, because that is exactly how I felt about the episode as well -- like it was written by somebody who knows that I only care about probably 17% of the general content of the series, and decided to make a concentrated hour of just those aspects. AND SARAH, SERIOUSLY, I STILL CAN'T GET OVER HOW MUCH I LOVED SARAH AT THE END. Does that make me a bad person? Yes? Probably? Oh well, I'll find a way to live with it.
NOW I AM ACTUALLY DIGGING LUCAS/SARAH, POSSIBLY BECAUSE I AM A GLUTTON FOR PUNISHMENT AND NOW ONE OF THEM WILL HAVE TO KILL THE OTHER AND WHY DOES THIS ALWAYS HAPPEN WITH MY ARMITAGE!SHIPS BUT WHATEVER.
Was his request to 'Stay' a nod to RH? Which is just crazy if it was. I wonder if she will ask him to kill Harry Pearce in the finale? :O
Still not feeling the Lucas/ Sarah thing - I just kept thinking 'Noo! Run Lucas Run!'. I mean I suppose I should have thought the same with Guy/ Marian - but I got too much joy out of them till the end.

It's definitely more subtle than the "coming home with me" nod that RH made to N&S, which makes it much more possible that it was just a coincidence, but it's more fun to pretend that the writer of this ep is a furtive Guy of Gisborne fan.
At first I wasn't into Sarah/Lucas at all simply because of the utter predictability of it all, and even though this turn of events is, well, predictable -- at least it is taking predictability to awesome new heights? Like, I could have guessed that she was double-agent-ing, but that she just chucks Mr. CIA Boss Dude overboard like that... it gives me hope for some serious badassery once the inevitably Sarah/Lucas showdown rolls around, let's just say that.
