No plans to vote for Chelsea Clinton in 2016, then? We could go Bush/Clinton/Bush/Clinton/Clinton! And then think of the possibilities once Barbara and Jenna grow up!
The most plausible name I've seen bandied around for veep for Obama is Jim Webb of Virginia, though it's way, way too early to be seriously thinking about that. Though the odd thing is that I can totally picture Obama being Clinton's VP, but there's no way in hell that Clinton would be his.
No, no. I didn't mean as a tactical decision. I meant that when I first thought this a few months ago, I could picture Obama subjugating his ego and serving as VP in a Clinton administration, partly as a way to get the experience that it was commonly believed that he lacked. I can still picture that now, though the likelihood is growing much dimmer, for obvious reasons.
On the other hand, given that Clinton's entire return to politics in the form of the Senate was an obvious pretext for her to run for President, I couldn't (and still can't) imagine her serving as second fiddle to anyone. Though it would be kind of amusing if she did. Given the amount of vitriol directed at her, I can't tell whether her detractors (from either side of the political spectrum) would gloat about her fall to second place, or be aghast that she was in the administration at all.
