Battlestar and thunderstorms

Had a great time with plannerbear (met him for the first time in person) and davegrrr. While I complained about the programming being crappy last time, it was not a problem this evening (not even the slightest glitch). Wow, what an episode. Don't worry, no spoilers here. There were quite a few jaw dropping moments though that you just did not see coming. So glad ( Read more... )

Is the station supposed to collect data continuously? It reads that it stopped at 3:26AM. I like the graphics, simple but elegant.

Are you still behind in the rain? Have they lifted restrictions yet?

Yes, it's SUPPOSED to do that, but FTP on my box got all screwy last night for some reason. Had to reboot the entire system just now and FTP data is flowing again. There are still some trouble spots with that new live data feed, but I think it was Windows this time that got wedged. The live data to Weather Underground was still working though.

Data is flowing again now. Thanks for the heads up on that.

It's hard to say how far behind we are. Since Jan 2007, we're still almost 8" in the hole I think, but as for this year alone we're doing pretty good. No restrictions have been lifted yet as the city planners fear water usage will sky rocket once they give the green light. After the rain we've had the past week (2-3") I think they'll be under a lot of pressure to lift some restrictions.

Yes, it looked pretty sweet last night. :) It's not full HD from the source as it looks a bit grainy here and there in dark scenes, but it still looks great. Special effects are a notch or two higher than last time.

Frak, that was some episode!

So, since I know diddly squat about HD, why did it come in like that? Still, whatever you got was way better than watching it on my laptop, but I got the idea of what was up.

I love storms. probably also because they hardly ever get serious and dangerous here.
