This was the year of ALL THE FANDOMS and ALL THE EXCHANGES. I didn’t so much mind hopping and skipping around fandoms, but my first and foremost goal for next year is FEWER EXCHANGES

It is really interesting to hear about your year of exchanges! I have seen various notes in passing but I don't think I quite registered what exchange comment went with what. What is femslash minis?
I will put the Meg/Castiel steampunk fic on my list of things to get around to reading. (I'm afraid that's in competition with a landslide of Yuletide fic and also my mother's Masters thesis, but it's there.)
femslash_minis is a Buffyvers and Firefly femslash exchange that runs every three weeks and has for YEARS. It is quite the venerable institution at this point, IMO all the more impressive for being a) femslash and b) in Buffy fandom, which historically has never been much for exchanges.
Heh, well, the Meg/Castiel is very short. It was just a fun little thing for Trick or Treat, for someone who asked for wings. I just figured steampunk AU would be more of a selling point than it actually turned out to be. :)
Trick or Treat was great for encouraging "short little things" that might otherwise not have been written. I really enjoyed it.
Aw, I suspected femslash_minis would be fandom-specific. That's a small pity for me - I've never been strongly into Firefly either - but I'm sure it works well for the participants.
And also yay at meeting fannish people! I got to meet three fannish people this year and it was fantastic fun (where I live is not conducive to meeting other fans sadly).
Heh, I am still so pleased that non-hockey people like that fic (although, to be fair, there's basically no hockey in it).
You are very far away, yes. :( If I am ever up your way, though, I would love to come visit. (Uh, where are you now? Scotland? Ireland? Yorkshire? I'm somehow convinced it's one of those...)
Best of luck with your original fic.
Heh, thanks. When I say "original fic," what I really mean is taking the SUPER TROPEY Gen/Jared idea from this post and writing it as original fic instead (probably with more worldbuilding than I'd bother with for fic). But hey, whatever motivates, right? :D
Aw, well, yay. I think possibly it just didn't end up being the story I had in mind, and I've never been very confident about the story it became instead. But that is nice to hear! <3
