Woot for Kindle! Having fic stored on a device ready to be read offline at any time is amaaazing. xD

Just a heads up - Kindle can only read PDF and Mobi, but Mobi files are much better for downloading fic.

Cool, thanks for the heads up. I've never saved anything in Mobi, because I never needed to. I suppose I should go back to AO3 and resave some things. :)

I guess it depends on the kind of Kindle: mine doesn't deal very well with PDF, because of the fixed layout (sometimes is too large and it cuts part of the page, you have to reduce it to Giles' worthy fruit-fly tiny characters), but takes perfectly well Word Docs and TXT, apart from the obvious Mobi.
Plus there's the whole universe of out of copyright books at Gutenberg, and freebies both on Amazon and all over the web.
You definitely don't need to pay money!
Also Twisting The Hellmouth has the Mobi "wordgrinder", if you like their crossovers.
Guess what...I love my Kindle!

Good to know! Unfortunately, all my saved AO3 fic is PDF, but I can go find it again and re-save. And I will take a look at these freebies. :D

Awesome :D You can still get quite a lot of free books on Amazon btw, or you can use the lending library if you're an Amazon prime member :)

And hee yes, I've got tons of paperbacks that I still need to read, but that hasn't stopped me buying more and more books for my kindle *g*
