Cool, thanks for the heads up. I've never saved anything in Mobi, because I never needed to. I suppose I should go back to AO3 and resave some things. :)
I guess it depends on the kind of Kindle: mine doesn't deal very well with PDF, because of the fixed layout (sometimes is too large and it cuts part of the page, you have to reduce it to Giles' worthy fruit-fly tiny characters), but takes perfectly well Word Docs and TXT, apart from the obvious Mobi. Plus there's the whole universe of out of copyright books at Gutenberg, and freebies both on Amazon and all over the web. You definitely don't need to pay money! Also Twisting The Hellmouth has the Mobi "wordgrinder", if you like their crossovers. Guess what...I love my Kindle! : )

Just a heads up - Kindle can only read PDF and Mobi, but Mobi files are much better for downloading fic.
