This is really fantastic. The language suits the story perfectly, and the steady build-up to Abaddon rising at last is great. I quite like your interpretation of night vs knight, hee :)

Is Lilith pride, and Abaddon envy?

Is Lilith pride, and Abaddon envy?

Why, yes! Yes, that brilliant interpretation is exactly what I was going for. Obviously. *cough*

(No seriously, that is brilliant. Why didn't I think of that? But I am always ecstatic when people are to draw things out that I didn't intentionally put in.)

I am so glad you liked. Thank you for the lovely comment. :)

Oh wow, I love the atmosphere you build here, and the mounting tension. Plus those last two lines are amazing.

:DDDD

I am thrilled that you liked it! I so often have trouble with plot that it's always fun when I have a plotty ending in mind right from the get-go like this. :)

I liked it, but wasn't it Knight, instead of Night? English at times confuses me.

Well, the two words are pronounced the same, and we never see the word written down in the episode, I don't think. I honestly thought 'Night' was what was meant until I saw some other people referring to Abaddon as a 'Knight of Hell.' But I kinda think a 'Night of Hell' is cooler - there's so much room for metaphor there.

Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed the fic. :)

Oh, oooh. Love the idea of them as "nights", a physical and spiritual darkness. I don't apparently have anything useful to say, but just that it was so cool.

:DDDDD

I legit thought that was the word we meant in the episode, and I was so impressed that SPN had introduced this word with so much metaphorical richness (especially considering we introduced the 'Men of Letters' in the same episode). And then I went to the internet, and found that apparently we meant her to be a Knight rather than a Night. Hence fic.

I am so tickled that you liked it! There's so much to be done with that interpretation, I think. Lucifer as Angel of Light, the seven Nights of Hell echoing the seven days of creation, etc. Symmetry everywhere!
