The way they did the effects for scrawny!Steve was incredible, wasn't it?
A BIG YES to 40s fashion. And clearly, no helmet because Peggy needs no helmet. Her hair is magic.
I'm a big fan of this movie because I'm hugely sentimental and it was directed by the same guy who did The Rocketeer. In both films, I love how the director can play it straight with the concepts of honor and goodness whereas most stories feel uncomfortable letting that breathe and have to undercut it with sarcasm or subversion nowadays.
It was really cool, what they did with the effects!
I've never seen The Rocketeer, but I know what you mean about talking about big things without the need for irony or snideness. (Although, I also think the movie was way simplistic in places, but as I commented to Verity, I should know better than to expect complex moral reasoning from comic book movies.)
I wanted to watch this movie, but I think I'm mostly fascinated by the idea of Steve in the modern days. I really want to see something modern with this character involved! Still, I think I'll watch it in the next few days. I hope you enjoy Thor. I liked it a lot!
Yeah. What is it with people hiring Hugo Weaving and then putting masks on him? Why would you cover up those maniacal eyebrows? It happened in V for Vendetta, too.
