Cherry wine = throw it out. Wine goes bad after about 24 once its opened. Sounds like you've had that one awhile.
Red wine = sautee. Good for stews, sauces, meatloaf, and stir-fry.

I didn't know that about Rum... or the wine...
The red wine I had a glass of last night, in an actual wine glass and it tasted better than when I opened it. Found that to be interesting.
The cherry wine I kept because it was semi-sentimental then thought I'd taste it and it was nasty...
