Ignipes is asking people to post recs, and your story came up. I'm so glad it did!

This is wonderful, and the Sam pov is spot on!

Well, heck, that was unexpected and very welcome! Thank you! (And, apparently, thanks to geminigrl11 for the rec!) So very glad you enjoyed the story, and Sam (who, it must be said, owns my heart).

:-D

This is really, really amazing.

Especially now, post-Houses of the Holy, this story makes so much sense. Because Sam has faith, and he had to have learned that from somewhere.

Your Pastor Jim is what I've always imagined a grown-up Sam to be like, and I don't have a better compliment than that.

Okay, this comment email came through to me after a really annoying meeting that I left wanted to jump out a fifth-floor window to escape. Perfect timing. It made my afternoon. Thank you so much!

This? In combination with your observation about Sam's faith... Seriously made me misty this afternoon. I take your compliment as it was intended, and I'd like to think both Sam and Pastor Jim would be pleased as well.

Thanks again for reading and commenting!

Hey, thanks! I'm so glad the characters came across believably for you.

Also, thank you SO MUCH for the chuckle over the molting question. That line just burbled up out of nowhere on the day--I actually just threw it in as a placeholder for the "right" line--and it cracked me up so much that I kept it. SO gratifying that it made someone else laugh.

Thanks again!

I really love this and the way you wove the sinning and forgiveness through there.

Oh boys! They've had so little, all their lives. And here you give us a really endearing and compelling character, a sliver of occasional compassion and support - and they've lost that now too!

This was an excellent expansion of canon - very believable! Hope you'll write more!

Oh, I love to hear when people liked my version of Pastor Jim. It pleases the punch right out of me, even though I get all maudlin about how he's dead now. Sigh. Glad to hear the canon-weaving worked for you.

Thanks for the lovely comment! I plan to keep writing as long as the Supernatural muse feeds my brain. You can check out my other stories (there aren't a ton of them, yet) in my intro post and story link post.
