Thanks for the great suggestions :)

I've already read Gone with the Wind, but while I was at the bookstore yesterday I did buy Love in the Time of Cholera per your suggestion. It sounds beautiful, I can't wait to read it now!

Love that you're making a reading list...I do too. But how can you give Atonement two stars? (sad.) I loved that book with a passion. I just read The Thirteenth Tale. Think you'll enjoy that. :)

So many people ask me that question! I know a lot of people loved both the book and the movie, but I just found it extremely irritating. I hate that the perceptions of a child managed to forever ruin the romantic relationship between Robbie and Cecilia! What upset me even more is that Briony never redeems herself! We're supposed to be happy that she concocted a story in which the two lovers were reunited, when in reality she never spoke up and admitted she was wrong? If she had merely owned up to her mistake, their separation and death may have been avoided. At the very least, Robbie and Cecilia wouldn't have gone to their graves forever being denied what they truly wanted (Each other) I don't see what Briony did as proper 'atonement' for her sins, and my hatred of her ruined any enjoyment I might have otherwise have had from the novel. Each to their own, I guess. I seem to be in the minority in my opinions of the book :)

I'm just sad I wasn't able to read the full compliment of 50 books :( Maybe next year!
