OH HELLO I HEARD THERE WAS A PARTYreign_of_powerMarch 17 2011, 23:04:35 UTC
It didn't take too long for a giant looming figure to give chase to a honking, headless bird. After all, Ganndorf could hover and it made it just that much easier
But there she was.Midna, in the flesh, and as he landed in the softly growing grass, he couldn't help but crack up a smile.
UM YES HELLOimpish_shadowMarch 17 2011, 23:27:31 UTC
Fluffy would protest that it was a face she was lacking, not a head. Poo poo to you too, Gerudo man. The bird came to a surprisingly delicate landing next to her lady. The Twili gave her a smile and a stroke under her chin before she gave Ganondorf any real acknowledgment.
But she did, turning to look at him. It was a careful look, seemingly evaluating his appearance.
"I was always here, unless you mean what happened last week," he mused, stroking his own chin and not the one of a headless I mean faceless bird, poo poo to you too. "That was a rather unfortunate impasse. I barely remember anything that happened. A rather terrible time for you to come back, is it not?"
"Indeed, though I suppose I can't expect the flow of time to bend to my will that easily. I'll count myself luckily that this is when it chose to let me come back."
Midna reached down and picked up another large stick, instantly captivating Fluffy's attention. She waved it once, twice, and then threw it in a large arc. It sped along surprisingly quickly, but it was clear there was a little magical influence to it. The bird crooned and took flight, leaving the pair alone for the moment.
"I grew tired of meeting men that looked like you without being you." There was a hint of a smirk now. "Though the you from last week was fairly amusing in hindsight."
He just wanted to go and get his mind off of this crazy school. But NOPE, the school was not having that, as there are crazy things honking. By crazy things, I mean... Fluffy. Oh. Goose remembered this thing.
He landed in the general area of the shadow creature and glanced about. Didn't that Midna chick have one of these?
Fluffy was in hot pursuit of something, snuffling around in budding bushes and getting her metaphorical nose into everything. The shadow kargorok glanced over in Goose's direction as he landed, letting out a another short honk in response. Yeah, she remembered you. Sorta. Maybe. Honk.
You were obviously a distraction because SUDDENLY. SUDDENLY A DOG. Said dog was ducking under Fluffy's legs and charging forward to grab the big stick that had been obscured by one of the other bushes. Yesss this was the sweet taste of victory in Ciaran's mouth and he was off like a shot past Goose.
Oh Hell no.
Fluffy was in quick pursuit, issuing another honk at Goose as she tore by.
That was all Goose could possibly utter as the two sped by and left little to nothing in their wake. Well, okay, except for some possible flying grass and footprints.
A light bulb then went off in his head. He could follow this bird thing and its strange doggy friend to... whoever their master was. Hopefully Midna and not some crazy guy he didn't know yet or something.
And so he took off after them. TIME TO SOLVE THE MYSTERY.
Okay no it wasn't. What Goose would see when he caught up with them was that Fluffy, being faster than Ciaran, had proceeded to pluck the large dog off the ground with her feet. This would surely make her the winner since she was technically holding the stick. Yes. That's totally how it worked. So holding the dog that was holding the stick, she was flying in circles around the master that Goose sought.
SURPRISE IT REALLY WAS THANATOS.
No, it was Midna. She caught sight of him, and glanced towards the odd pair. "Did you catch him too?"
What was that racket? It was unlike anything Sherbet had ever heard! Time to go investigate. As far as she could tell they were... animals? Maybe? Ones she'd never seen before, so it was only natural that the noise would be just as strange. But if the winged thing didn't even have a face how was it making noise in the first place...?
Maybe that lady they kept bringing sticks to knew the answer.
Midna glanced over at the new comer, tapping a stick in her hands. She didn't recognize the little girl at all, so she guessed she really was new. At least to some degree. There were a lot of people at the school now that were new to her.
She nodded over at the creatures that were watching the stick's every move, and she wove it around a little. "We're playing some fetch."
Nyx definitely recognized that sound. It wasn't a pleasant one, to say the least, but she was grinning, and turning on her heel, heading for the source. Sure, there was the off chance that something like Fluffy had wandered onto school grounds, and decided to serenade the school with those god-awful honks, but she sincerely doubted it.
And wouldn't you know it, she was right. Nyx raised her voice as soon as she saw the other girl, calling out a greeting to her. "Hey, Midna!"
"Oh, nothing too much," Midna dismissed rather casually. "Did some traveling, killed a man, rebuilt a nation. All the things you'd normally do on a vacation, eee hee hee."
Wow, why did that honking sound familiar? It sounded almost like... Oh. A Shadow Kargarok. Well, enough of staring at it from the window. Link ran outside, looking up at the Shadow Kargarok, and following it as it flew, using his wolf form to keep up.
...That was, until he saw the owner of said Shadow Kargarok. Link skid to a stop and stared at Midna from afar, mouth still open.
Fluffy looked down at him every so often, giving him a honk or two as she coasted. Who was this weird almost puppy look-a-like? Whateverrrr.
She flew down to Midna's waiting hands, nudging them and looking back behind her and honking. Check it out there was totally some puppy thing what was it hey hey hey. Midna looked through the natural tatters of the bird's wings, and it didn't take long to notice the visitor Fluffy had brought with her. This time it was right. This was a face she knew.
Midna gently brushed past Fluffy, crossing her arms beneath her chest. She didn't get any closer to the wolf, only watching him with a small smile. "Speechless still? I would have thought you'd found your words by now."
Link turned back into his Hylian form and still stood, silent. At least he closed his mouth. It took a while before he finally remembered that he had a voice to use for communication.
"...You're here." Of course she was here. That much was obvious. Time to try again. "...How are you here?" That was... a bit better.
Her smile grew a bit, and she watched him fumble around with his words with a certain unreadable fondness in her eyes. She had missed the silly farmhand more than she was willing to let on. Seeing that he was still here even after she had left him behind a first time... No, perhaps it was a second time. Time was working in funny ways after all. It made her happy.
"I told you I'd see you around, didn't I?" AKA that is a secret you didn't have to worry about. "Now is that any way to say hello?"
