Blind dates... blind dates... Really? Voile never really went on dates in the first place. How did they expect her to go on a date with someone she didn't even know. What if it was someone she didn't like? (Not that there was anyone she would have disliked, but still. It was the principle of the matter.)

All the same, it was a little strange, especially considering she had a date with Sonny coming up in a couple of days. Oh, well. Maybe she'd learn something. So after taking a seat, she lifted her menu, and began to read - a bit weary that nothing was priced. She hoped she wouldn't wind up overeating. And washing dishes forever.

Luigi looked down at the card in his hands, then scanned to tabletops for the corresponding number-letter combination. Ah! There it was! C8! There also appeared be someone at the table already. Was that who he was going on this date with?

As he got closer to the table, he got a better look at the person at the table. Oh! His date was a woman this time! That was much better than the person who had met last time. Not only that, but she was very beautiful, too! If she was just as friendly as she was beautiful, maybe this date would turn out better than last time!

"Hello! My name's Luigi! I-I guess I'm your blind date," Luigi greeted Viole, as he sat down across from her.

She looked up from her menu, just barely over the top and eyed Luigi for a few moments. Then she set it down and reached over, having to get up just a bit, and offered her hand. That was what people did, right? Shake hands? It made sense to her, she thought.

"Ohhh, it's very nice to meet you." He seemed so flustered and she hadn't even done anything. Was he always like that? Or maybe she was just really intimidating or something. "My name is Voile. Please, make yourself comfortable."

Okay. Perhaps this wouldn't be so terrible, after all.

Luigi shook her hand, then awkwardly fidgeted for a while, before picking up his menu and looking over the restaurant's selection of meals. He may have glanced up at Viole every once in a while.

He had never been on an actual date that hadn't turned into an absolute disaster, so he was a bit nervous.

As she looked over the menu in thought, she was distracted minutely by who exactly Luigi was. So she peered over the edge and watched him for a few moments. "So why don't you tell me a bit about yourself? You're a student, aren't you?"

And that was a guess, because most of Voile's time was spent with her nose in books. Apparently the Gardevoir wasn't capable of dividing her time as well as she should have been.

"Oh, yeah! I'm a student." Luigi set his menu down so that he could give Viole his full attention. "I came here because of my bro, but then he left..." Now that he thought about it, he wondered how his brother was doing without him in the Mushroom Kingdom.

"Are you a student, too?"

Oh, a brother...

Voile thought she'd seen someone who looked a bit like him. Well, almost identical really. She hadn't spoken with the other one, however, only noticed him. It was a shame that Luigi had been left behind, though.

She nodded, "Yes. I believe they refer to me as a 'senior', though I really don't understand how their schooling system works. I wasn't involved in any such thing back home."

A senior! Luigi wasn't very familiar with the schooling system, either, but he was pretty sure he knew what that meant. "Oh! I think that means that you've been here for a long time, and that you're really experienced!" That was so cool! She must know a lot about the school!

Of course, this left Luigi trying to remember which grade level he was at. He didn't really keep track of how long he had been at the school...

She chuckled softly. "Well, they have both a high school and a university division. I'll be graduating from the high school division once this school year ends. Then I'll be moving up to the university, I think."

She had no plans of returning to Lilycove for an extended period of time, after all.

"What grade are you in?" she asked as she leaned over. She settled her chin in the palm of her hand with a smile.

Luigi placed his hand over his mouth, thinking. After a while of sitting like this, he finally came to a realization. "Huh... I guess I don't really know!"

Luigi thought for a bit longer. Let's see... The year he joined the school was... Hm... So that meant... "I've been here for 2 years, I think! I wonder what that makes me..."

"Well, if you started from the bottom level and moved up, depending on your age, and you completed two years and are starting your third, that would make you a junior, I think." She sat back in her chair comfortably as she watched him. "But I'm not able to determine your age just by looking at you."

She imagined she could crawl around in his head, but she was still training herself not to do that automatically. Things were so much more interesting when people took the time to learn about each other. She had no reason that she needed to cheat to get information out of the kind boy.

Junior, huh? He... didn't really know where that put him. Although, it sounded like he was kind of... low. Did that mean Viole was at the school even longer than him?

Luigi sat up straight in his chair, so that he was no longer leaning on the table. "Oh! I'm 18!"

He was glad that his date was such a nice person. Things seemed to be going pretty well so far. It wasn't nearly as scary as last time, and that wasn't just because he had gained experience from last time. His previous date was kind of intimidating!

"Oh..."

So they were the same. She smiled a little, more for herself than the situation, though the predicament wasn't bad at all. There were too many other people who she probably wouldn't have liked being with. Well, not that she disliked anyone. Just that... There were some who made her uncomfortable.

"I am as well. As of this year. But I was a junior last year. I am a senior this year." But maybe she'd said that already. In fact, she probably had.

"That's good! Last time I went on one of these blind dates, I'm pretty sure the person I got was way older than me!" Okay, that might have been an exaggeration, but he looked pretty old! And scary! Did he mention scary?

"Is age such an important trait?" she asked curiously.

Voile had always assumed it to simply be a number, but then humans had such an odd way of considering and analysing everything. It couldn't hurt to learn something new and she had the distinct impression that Luigi could easily explain himself if he wanted to.
