I just said goodbye to the old table. Timmeh and I loaded it in the back of the truck, and he just pulled out with the camper. He's headed up to the farm to camp there tonight. He's going to help sort and organize and help the auctioneers all day, and because there will be so much stuff sitting around and publicity about the sale, we thought it would be a good idea for someone to be present on the property overnight. I'm going to go up for a while tomorrow while the estate sale is going on. And I'll bring cookies!

As for a tablecloth, my mind did actually wander to the possibility of a fern or pine cone pattern. But once we get the table cleaned up and refinished, the bare wood might be beautiful.

We've got house painters here doing the outside of the house (yes, let's just add one more bit of stress before vacation) and Tim is devoting himself to some shrub trimming and lawn work. I put in a few hours pulling weeds around the yard yesterday morning. It underscores the fact that we can barely maintain one place, let alone a second house (yes, I have given up my wild dreams of being able to buy the place and use it as a second home/commercial bakery ( ... )
