This stuff is great, and I remember the reason why I don't make it very often: my own grabby hands! But I was motivated to make it because this month's theme on BakeBakeBake is yeast! So maybe I'll have a shot at another winning entry.

I have to confess the first time I worked with yeast dough, I had a couple fails (milk too hot=dead yeast!). But once you learn what the little beasties like, they're not hard to corral and do your bidding. I'm always amazed by people's reactions to homemade yeast breads. 'You MADE this????'. LOL. People were making this stuff long before it became industrial and packaged in grocery stores. It seems so few people bake these days, they seem to think it's some kind of voodoo.

I got a note from an elderly woman today who enjoyed one of my orange sweet rolls where I volunteer, and she wants to talk to me on the phone about baking, and even asked me if I was willing to take orders/bake professionally. I've been definitely putting more thought into that idea lately! My regular job can be incredibly unsatisfying sometimes, but it pays the bills.
