okay, totally random (again), but i was wondering something. every year People names someone sexiest man alive. i've agreed with a few of their choices (can't quibble with denzel, brad, george, or johnny) and scratched my head at others (matthew mcconaughey? really???) and i lament that they've never picked viggo. so i'm trying to come up with ( Read more... )

Well, personally, I'd go for Jerermy Irons. But I think they're going to pick Jude Law (again)...

ooh, jeremy irons is nice. i doubt they'll pick jude law again. his career has kind of stalled, and people were turned off by the nanny-shagging.

I think they ususally pick whoever the hot guy of the moment is. I've only on rare occasions agreed with People's cover boy....my faves are usually on the list, but have never been the cover boy.

it definitely is who's hot. that's why i figured brad again (when is he not hot?) or jake or super-bourne matt damon. i've never seen my fave make the cover. but sometimes they get minor love, like when they highlighted anderson cooper.

I just think it should be a requirement that it's someone different on the cover each year. Brad Pitt has been awarded the title, what, 2 or three times so far?

There are *plenty* of sexy men in the world. People mag needs to broaden the spectrum of their criteria.

no, i agree. but they've done brad twice and george clooney twice. and they put the same people on the cover (angelina, britney, jen aniston, lindsay lohan...) all the time. not to mention that the only time crime victims get cover stories is if they're white. so people isn't exactly a democratic institution. they do what every other publication does -- aim for what people will pay for.
