She had ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) and spent the last two years in a steady decline.
The last two months, plus or minus, were particularly difficult.
She's no longer suffering.
She will be greatly missed.

I've lost most of my family to natural causes too over the past 20 years. My Mom's the only one left and I don't do the best job of keeping in touch with her. Maybe I should start.
My room mate jtlion lost his Mom to ALS only a couple years ago, so he'd know what you're going through. He made it through alright.
Take your time to grieve, preserve the happy memories, then take them with you through the rest of your life!
