Beaver Street Oranges

I bought some oranges from the farmer's market on Beaver street this past weekend. When I peeled one open just now, it smelled like 409 or some sort of cleaning product. Should I eat it?

It's a good cleaning product, but I'm not sure I want to eat something that smells like it.
