I got them off an ebay auction, and they're used but not even broken in at the ankle at all. I love ebay so hard right now. I've never bought tall boots before, just half-chaps and paddock boots, so I'm not 100% sure if they really are tall enough or not, but I'm not sure I care enough to try again. ;D I don't think I'll get that lucky twice.

That sucks for your boots. Think you'll be able to fit in them again (if not, there's always ebay ;D)? I'm slightly petrified my calves'll balloon out and I won't be able to use them, blah.

I should be able to fit into them again, I don't even think I'd sell them if I can't because I love my boots, lol. I've tried stretching them numerous times but the leather is so thick that they won't stretch! Breaking them in was HELL too, because of that. They don't actually drop that much height wise once you get them broken in, because the leather is so stiff.

The outside of the boot should come slightly above your knee.

The spanish top part? Or the inside part? I think as it is, it fits close to perfect, but the ankle hasn't broken in at all, so if it drops much I may be screwed. Kelley and someone else at the barn said theirs didn't drop much, so I'm hoping when it does it's negligible.

Beeeeeauuuutiful! Congrats!!! And I hope they fit.
Ideally, the back of the boot (where your knee bends) will be just below that crease when they're broken in.
And the leather on the Petries is really stiff, so they probably won't drop much- I'm thinking a half inch to 3/4 of an inch. And if they are spanish tops they will automatically look taller because the outside (the part of the boot opposite the part that rests against your horse) is taller than on a standard dress boot.

Thank you! They fit perfectly, except for the height which I'm iffy on so I'm spamming the barn people when I get off my ass and head out to watch the rest of the clinic. I am thinking they're going to be a little too short, but I'm hoping, like you mentioned, the spanish top hides that, and considering how cheap I got them I'll probably just go with it. And it's not like I'm showing big time, anyhow, just schooling shows and lessons at the moment. Man I don't want to think about how much it'd cost me to get the whole outfit. ;) If I keep slowly buying one piece at a time it might not give me a heart attack.
