The Fall Switch-Up? How are you transitioning your beauty?

I don't want to load up on ultra-heavy creams and lotions but I do need something better than the lightweight summer moisturizer I've been using. I'm wondering what you girls like when the weather changes like this? Here are a few ( Read more... )

My transition to the fall has coincided with starting to be really careful about BPAs. Have you read much about them? I saw this article: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=%2Fc%2Fa%2F2011%2F09%2F13%2FMN2U1L2ERJ.DTL and I started to realize how many products have it :( :( :(

I also read something freaky about Nanoparticles. Maybe I'm getting paranoid in my old age, but I've switched almost all my products to things I understand the ingredients of.

I'm with you on becoming more educated about skincare ingredients! Whether it's paranoia or not (and in the case of BPAs, seems there are plenty of founded reasons to avoid them), switching to products with easily-understandable ingredients is the way to go. What are some of your favorite brands that don't include parabens? I'm a fan of Juice Beauty and the Alterna BAMBOO line.

Oo, Alterna Bamboo sounds good. I will check it out.

I've been getting a lot of Trader Joe's products, and Avalon Organics (their peppermint shaving cream is so nice-smelling).

Yeah, TJ's products are great! I haven't tried the Avalon shaving cream, but I looove peppermint scents. How about makeup? Do you use a particular brand with more natural ingredients?
