I think you're right, the answer is yes, but you're also right that sexuality plays a big part in it.

I mean it can be tough at times, because even if one doesn't feel anything sexually the other might, and things like that. But all friendships have rough spots, and it's not like people say "straight girls can't be friends because jealousy about guys or clothes or something like that always gets in the way." It can, but that just means those two particular girls can't be friends. Not all of them.

I agree with a lot of this. And it definitely is easier if the friend in question is gay.

That always makes it easier. But I'd say it's definitely possible for a straight man and woman to be friends. Or gay men or women. You know what I mean. It just... seems weird that it could never work.

I think the only way it can never work is if everyone in the relationships doesn't communicate.
